About the Teacher role
A Teacher plans and delivers lessons, assesses student progress, and creates a classroom environment where students actually want to learn. Beyond instruction, teachers manage classroom behavior, adapt materials for different learning needs, communicate with parents, and contribute to the wider life of the school through activities, meetings, and curriculum work.
Teaching roles vary enormously by level and subject. A primary teacher covers most subjects for one class and builds deep relationships with young students. A secondary teacher specializes in a subject and teaches many groups across the week. Add in special education, language instruction, and vocational teaching, and the same job title covers very different daily realities. Your posting should name the level, the subject or subjects, the class sizes, and the curriculum you follow.
Teacher certification and registration requirements vary by jurisdiction and school type, so state exactly what your school requires rather than assuming a standard. Also describe what your school offers: mentoring for new teachers, planning time, resources, and the school culture. Experienced teachers read postings for signals about workload and support, and vague postings read as a warning sign.
