This Cookie Policy explains how Hirex HR, Inc. ("Hirex", "we", "us") uses cookies and similar tracking technologies on our websites at gethirex.com and on our applicant tracking platform at app.gethirex.com (together, the "Services").
It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They allow the site to recognise your device on subsequent visits, remember your preferences, keep you signed in, measure usage, and (in some cases) serve advertising. Similar technologies (web beacons, pixels, local storage, and SDKs) work in comparable ways. In this Policy we refer to all of these as "cookies."
Cookies set by the site you are visiting are first-party cookies. Cookies set by another party (for example, an embedded video or an analytics tool) are third-party cookies.
2. The cookies we use
We group cookies into four categories. The categories, and your control over each, are described in the Cookie Preferences panel accessible from any page on our website.
Strictly necessary cookies
Required for the Services to function. They cannot be disabled. They include cookies that:
- Keep you signed in to your Hirex account
- Maintain your session state and security
- Remember your cookie preferences
- Protect against cross-site request forgery and other security threats
- Route traffic through our content delivery network and web application firewall
Functional cookies
Enable enhanced functionality and personalisation, such as remembering your language preference or region. Set only with your consent.
Analytics cookies
Help us understand how visitors and users interact with the Services so we can improve them. They collect aggregated, statistical information. Set only with your consent.
Marketing cookies
Used to measure the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns and, on our public website only, to display content relevant to your interests. Set only with your consent. We do not engage in cross-context behavioural advertising as defined by CCPA/CPRA.
3. Cookies on the marketing website (gethirex.com)
These cookies apply when you visit gethirex.com and its public subpages (excluding app.gethirex.com). Non-essential cookies are set only after you give consent via the cookie banner.
4. Cookies in the product application (app.gethirex.com)
These cookies apply when you are signed in to the Hirex application at app.gethirex.com. The set is deliberately small. Strictly necessary cookies are required to operate the application and cannot be disabled. Analytics cookies are set only with your in-product consent, asked once on first sign-in and changeable from your user settings.

Why we ask twice. Your cookie choices on the marketing website do not carry into the product application, and vice versa. The two surfaces are separate cookie domains with different purposes. The marketing site is operated by Hirex as data controller; the product application processes data on behalf of your employer (the Hirex customer) as data processor. Consents on each surface are managed independently so that you, and the customer, retain clear control over each.
The complete, up-to-date inventory is maintained by our consent management platform and shown in the Cookie Preferences panel on each surface.
5. Cookies on candidate-facing careers pages and application forms
When you visit a careers page or fill out a job application hosted on app.gethirex.com on behalf of a Hirex customer (the employer you are applying to), a different rule applies.
The employer, not Hirex, is the data controller for the personal data you submit through the application. Hirex operates the technical surface as a data processor. As a result:
- The privacy policy that governs your application data is the employer's privacy policy, not Hirex's. Where the employer provides one, a link to their policy may appear on the application form.
- The cookies set on these pages are limited by default to those strictly necessary to operate the form (session, CSRF, Cloudflare bot protection). No analytics, marketing, or advertising cookies are set by default.
To exercise data protection rights in respect of your application, contact the employer you applied to. Hirex will assist the employer in fulfilling such requests but does not respond to candidate requests directly.
6. Managing your cookie preferences
On our websites
You can change your cookie preferences at any time using the Cookie Preferences link at the foot of every page. Your choices apply to the device and browser you're using; you'll need to repeat the choice on other devices or browsers.
In your browser
You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:
- Block all cookies (some sites won't work)
- Block third-party cookies only
- Delete existing cookies
- Be notified before a cookie is set

Do Not Track
We do not currently respond to "Do Not Track" signals, as there is no consistent industry standard for them. If you do not want us to set non-essential cookies, please use the Cookie Preferences panel.
7. Specific notes on certain tools
- Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics with IP anonymisation enabled. We have signed Google's data processing terms, including the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
- LinkedIn Insight Tag, Meta Pixel. Used on our marketing website only. They allow us to measure the effectiveness of campaigns run on those platforms. They are set only with your consent.
- PostHog. Used for product analytics in the application. Where session replay is enabled, sensitive form fields are automatically masked. PostHog operates on our EU cloud instance.
- Intercom. Customer support chat. Stores the necessary identifiers to maintain the conversation.
8. Cookies and personal data
Cookies may collect information that constitutes personal data under applicable law (such as your IP address or pseudonymous identifiers). Our use of any personal data collected via cookies is governed by our Privacy Policy.
9. Changes to this Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the latest revision. Material changes will be highlighted via the cookie preferences banner.
