About the DevOps Engineer role
A DevOps Engineer builds and runs the systems that let software ship safely and often: CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, monitoring, and the automation that replaces manual toil. The role exists to make deployments boring and outages rare.
Day to day, DevOps engineers write infrastructure as code, harden and scale environments, tune observability so problems surface before customers notice, and partner with developers on everything from build times to incident response. Culture matters as much as tooling: good DevOps engineers spread operational ownership rather than hoarding it.
In your posting, describe your cloud provider, container and orchestration setup, deployment frequency, and on-call expectations. These specifics decide fit more than any generic skill list.
