About the QA Engineer role
A QA Engineer safeguards product quality: designing test plans, executing manual and automated tests, reporting defects clearly, and pushing quality thinking earlier into the development process. Good QA prevents bugs, not just finds them.
Modern QA blends skills: exploratory testing instincts, automation engineering with tools such as Playwright or Cypress, API testing, and enough product sense to know which failures matter most. In many teams, QA engineers also own release checklists, test environments, and quality metrics.
In your posting, state the manual-versus-automation balance, your tooling, and how QA participates in the development cycle. Automation-focused engineers and exploratory testers are different profiles; say which you need, or that you need both.
