The role differs by team. FP&A analysts own budgeting and forecasting cycles, business unit analysts partner with departments on their numbers, and corporate analysts support investment and strategy decisions. We are hiring a Financial Analyst to help leaders understand performance, test assumptions, and plan with better information. You will build financial models, run the budgeting and forecasting cycles, dig into variances until you can explain them, and present what you find to management.
You are likely to do well if you have strong analytical skills, advanced spreadsheet abilities, and the communication skills to make numbers meaningful to non-finance colleagues.
Responsibilities
- Consolidate and analyze financial data, taking into account the company's goals and financial standing
- Build financial models to support planning, pricing, and investment decisions
- Prepare annual budgets and rolling forecasts with department owners
- Analyze variances between actuals, budget, and forecast, and explain the drivers
- Prepare monthly management reports and dashboards on financial performance
- Support month-end close with accruals review and performance commentary
- Evaluate capital expenditure requests and business cases
- Track key financial and operational metrics and flag risks early
- Improve reporting processes and automate recurring analyses where possible
- Present findings and recommendations clearly to management and stakeholders
Requirements and skills
- Previous experience as a Financial Analyst or in a similar analytical finance role
- Proficiency in spreadsheets, databases, and financial software applications
- Hands-on experience with financial modeling and scenario analysis
- Solid understanding of financial statements and accounting principles
- Awareness of market conditions and business factors that affect company performance
- Strong attention to detail and comfort working with large datasets
- Excellent presentation and communication skills
- A degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related subject is preferred; equivalent experience is welcome
Nice to have
- Experience with BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau, and SQL basics
- FP&A software experience such as Anaplan, Adaptive, or Pigment
- Progress toward CFA, CPA, or a similar qualification
- Industry experience relevant to our business model
