About the Truck Driver role

A Truck Driver transports goods safely and on schedule, whether that means regional routes, over-the-road hauls, or local deliveries. Beyond driving, the job includes pre-trip and post-trip inspections, securing loads, keeping accurate logs, and communicating with dispatch. A dependable driver protects the company's freight, equipment, safety record, and reputation with every trip.

The role demands more than a license. Strong drivers plan routes around weather and traffic, manage hours-of-service limits without cutting corners, and stay professional at shipper and receiver docks. They treat the truck as their workplace: catching maintenance issues early, keeping paperwork clean, and following DOT and FMCSA regulations because compliance failures ground trucks and cost contracts.

In your posting, be specific about what drivers care about most: route type and home time, equipment age and transmission type, freight handled, pay structure including per-mile or hourly rates, and whether touch freight is involved. Vague postings on these points lose experienced CDL holders to competitors within seconds.
