Job brief

We are looking for a skilled Waiter or Waitress to take orders and deliver food and beverages to our customers. The right candidate uplifts the dining experience for guests: attentive without hovering, fast without rushing anyone, and friendly with every table. Your responsibilities include presenting menus, taking accurate orders, serving courses on time, and processing payments. Ultimately, you will ensure our guests have an excellent experience from arrival to goodbye.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and escort customers to their tables and present menus
  • Inform guests about the day's specials and answer questions about ingredients and allergens
  • Offer menu recommendations upon request and suggest complementary items
  • Take accurate food and drink orders and enter them into the POS system
  • Communicate order details and special requests clearly to the kitchen
  • Serve food and beverages promptly and check in on satisfaction during the meal
  • Keep tables clean and tidy, and reset them between guests
  • Deliver checks, process payments, and thank guests warmly
  • Coordinate with other servers, hosts, and kitchen staff for smooth service
  • Follow all food safety and hygiene regulations

Requirements and skills

  • Proven work experience as a Waiter or Waitress, or willingness to learn in a fast-paced venue
  • Hands-on experience with a cash register or POS system, or ability to learn quickly
  • Attentiveness and patience with customers
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills to serve several tables at once
  • Physical stamina: full shifts on your feet carrying trays and plates
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Food safety training or willingness to obtain it where required

Nice to have

  • Experience in your service style, such as high-volume or fine dining
  • Wine, cocktail, or coffee knowledge
  • A second language common among your guests
  • Experience mentoring new servers or leading sections
