About the Operations Manager role
An Operations Manager makes the organization run efficiently: designing and improving processes, managing budgets and resources, leading teams, and ensuring quality and compliance. Where strategy sets the direction, operations makes it happen every single day.
The role's content depends on the business. In manufacturing and logistics, it means production planning, supply chain, and safety. In services and tech companies, it leans toward process design, vendor management, and cross-team coordination. Your posting should describe the operation's size, the team, and the metrics the manager will own.
Look for candidates who think in systems and measure what they change. Strong operations managers find the bottleneck, fix it, prove the improvement with numbers, and then find the next one.
