Responsibilities
- Write well-designed, testable, efficient code using web development best practices
- Build responsive layouts and interfaces from designs and wireframes
- Create website layout and user interfaces using standard HTML, CSS, and JavaScript practices
- Integrate data from various back-end services, APIs, and databases
- Maintain, expand, and scale existing websites and applications
- Optimize sites for maximum speed, SEO fundamentals, and accessibility
- Test across browsers and devices, and fix compatibility issues
- Cooperate with designers, content teams, and marketing to ship pages and features
- Keep dependencies, plugins, and platforms updated and secure
- Stay current with emerging web technologies and apply them where they add value
Requirements and skills
- Previous experience as a Web Developer with a portfolio of shipped work
- Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Experience with at least one modern framework or platform such as React, Next.js, Vue, or a major CMS
- Familiarity with responsive design and cross-browser compatibility
- Understanding of web performance, SEO fundamentals, and accessibility standards
- Experience with version control using Git
- Basic knowledge of how APIs and databases integrate with the front end
- A patient, evidence-led approach to diagnosing unfamiliar technical problems
- BSc in Computer Science or a relevant field, or equivalent practical experience
Nice to have
- Experience with TypeScript and modern build tooling
- Back-end experience with Node.js, PHP, or Python
- Experience with headless CMS platforms and static site generators
- Analytics and A/B testing implementation experience
